REMINDER: Beaver Scout Outing to Blair Drummond

The bus for tomorrow’s trip to Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park leaves Brucefield Church at 9.30 am tomorrow – Saturday 26th May.  We intend being back at the Church for around 4 pm.

The forecast is looking very good, but please can we remind everyone that UNIFORM IS REQUIRED.

As is a packed lunch – preferably in a backpack to leave hands free – and there is a shop which will no doubt be visited.

Any issues or concerns, please get in touch.

Leader Training – Well Done!

Congratulations to Peter McGuire Jnr (left) and Zack Renwick (centre), both Sectional Assistant Leaders – Beaver Scouts, for completing all their leader training.  They were presented with their Wood Badges at the Group AGM on Thursday 10th May by West Lothian Deputy District Commissioner Colin Thorpe.

Both Peter and Zack have worked really hard over several years to complete all the necessary modules to achieve their Wood Badges.  Very well done!

Brucefield Church Parade and Service

Many thanks to everyone who came along to the Brucefield Church Parade and Service yesterday.

We had a good turnout, the weather was kind and Brucefield Church’s Minster, Sandy Roger, gave us a very effective and fun service.

A particular thank you to Ian McGregor, Group Sectional Assistant, for all his work and time organising the event.

REMINDER: Brucefield Church Parade and Service

The Brucefield Church Parade and Service takes place on Sunday, 13th May 2018.

Members are asked to gather at Whitburn Bowling Club at 10.20 am for the parade leaving at approximately 10.35 am.  We intend returning to the Bowling Club at around 12.15 pm.

Everyone is asked to wear full uniform, including smart trousers and shoes.  A collection will be taken during the service.

Parades are perhaps not as exciting as many of the other activities we do but they are part of being a Scout.  We would love to see as many people there that can attended.  Let’s show Whitburn what a strong and successful Scout Group we are!

The Scout Group’s AGM takes place tonight at 8 pm in the Top Hall of Brucefield Church.

The meeting – consisting of the election of office bearers (the existing postholders have kindly offered to continue), Section reports, Group accounts and GSL report – should last no longer that 30 minutes.

Please come along and support the Scout Group.

Brucefield Church Parade and Service and Group AGM

Letters have went out promoting the upcoming Scout Group AGM  and Brucefield Church Parade.

The AGM is taking place this Thursday, the 10th May at 8 pm in Brucefield Church.

Group Office Bearers will be elected – don’t worry, we are fortunate that all those in post have kindly decided to remain!  Section and GSL reports will be given and the Group Accounts presented.  We anticipate it lasting around 30 minutes.  Please come along and show your support for the Scout Group and the fantastic work of the leadership team.

Also, the Brucefield Church Parade takes place next Sunday, the 13th May involving the Scout Group, Brownies and Guides from Brucefield.   We will assemble at Whitburn Bowling Club car park at 10.15 am.  We anticipate returning to the Bowling Club at around 12.20 pm.

We strongly encourage all members of the Scout Group to attend and ask that full uniform, including smart trousers and shoes, are worn please.

Thank you so much in anticipation of your support with these two important events.
